It’s Official!  Obama is the next President of the United States!

In  the hearts and minds of a lot of people, Barack Obama has been POTUS since November 4, 2008, but on January 8, 2009, Congress made it official.  On that day, Congress convened to tally and certify the electoral votes.  The results were confirmed to be: 365 electoral votes for Democrat Obama and running mate Joe Biden, to 173 votes for Republican John McCain and running mate Sarah Palin.
